President, I move that the motion under my name, as printed on the Agenda, be passed.
At the House Committee meeting on 6 January 2017, Members decided to form a subcommittee to scrutinize the Banking (Disclosure) (Amendment) Rules 2016 and the Banking (Specification of Class of Exempted Charges)(Amendment) Notice 2016. To allow sufficient time for the Subcommittee to report its deliberations to the House Committee, in my capacity as Chairman of the Subcommittee, I move that the period for scrutinizing the subsidiary legislation be extended to 1 March 2017.
President, I urge Members to support the motion.

“RESOLVED that in relation to the―
(a) Banking (Disclosure) (Amendment) Rules 2016, published in the Gazette as Legal Notice No. 195 of 2016; and
(b) Banking (Specification of Class of Exempted Charges)(Amendment) Notice 2016, published in the Gazette as Legal Notice No. 196 of 2016, and laid on the table of the Legislative Council on 11 January 2017, the period for amending subsidiary legislation referred to in section 34(2) of the Interpretation and General Clauses Ordinance (Cap. 1) be extended under section 34(4) of that Ordinance to the meeting of 1 March 2017.”
