Thank you, President. At present, private cars issued with both Guangdong and Hong Kong vehicle licences must undergo regular vehicle examination. As vehicles participating in the Scheme may stay in the Mainland for a very short period of time, I would like to ask if they also need to undergo vehicle examination before they are permitted to travel to the Mainland.

Similar to the current arrangements for vehicles issued with both Guangdong and Hong Kong licences, cross-boundary coaches and cross-boundary goods vehicles, it is necessary for private cars under the Scheme to undergo vehicle examination. We will arrange for vehicle examination upon application by a vehicle owner. Thank you, President.
