Mr Chan Chun-ying enquired about the implementation progress of the relevant recommendations made by the Ombudsman in March 2021 in its investigation report concerning the Government’s handling of sewer misconnections. The Administration responded that it had been actively following up the Ombudsman’s recommendations. EPD had conducted various joint operations with the Buildings Department, and the two departments would seek to enter the relevant premises for investigation if necessary. Nevertheless, there was limited need to enter the premises, as generally the premises’ responsible persons would take action to rectify misconnection upon receiving notifications from the Administration.
